Where to purchase uniforms:
Most department stores in Louisville carry school uniforms. If the uniforms are a financial burden, please contact our Family Resource Center (FRC) for assistance.

Monitoring Uniforms
All teachers will conduct a uniform check before the instructional day begins. Any student not wearing appropriate clothing (belts included) will be asked to visit the FRC to receive the necessary clothing. A parent will be notified when this happens. We ask that parents be responsible for seeing that their children are appropriately dressed before they leave home.

General Guidelines

  • All uniform items must be made of cotton, cotton blend, cotton twill or cotton-twill blend. No denim, corduroy, knit, silk, linen, or spandex fabrics are allowed. Uniforms are classic in style.
  • Clothing must be the appropriate size. Sagging or tightly fitting pants, shorts, or skirts may not be worn.
  • Hats, bandannas, hair racks or combs, or sunglasses cannot be worn in the building.

Uniform Compliance Plan

The Uniform Compliance Plan has been established to address an incident of noncompliance to the Dress Code Policy.  Noncompliance, as outlined in the plan below, interferes with the operation of school, and such interference will not be tolerated.  Any incident, occurrence, or display that disrupts the delivery of instruction or other school activities is considered an interference with school operation.

If a student comes to school out of uniform, the following measures will be taken:

Step 1: Teacher sends home letter. Uniform provided for the student but will be returned at the end of the day (based on availability).
Step 2: Same as step 1.  Teacher makes a phone call to parent.
Step 3: Same as Step 1.  The FRC coordinator will make contact with the parent to offer assistance and to discuss options.
Step 4: Same as Step 1. Conference takes place with parent, teacher and administrator to address the problem and develop a solution.
Step 5: Violation addressed in accordance with the JCPS Code of Acceptable Behavior and Discipline.
