Each student was nominated by his or her school principal or high school senior counselor. Selected students demonstrated outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments. These students developed strong character through community service or medical or family challenges, or they have overcome language, immigration, or physical obstacles in pursuit of excellence in education and in their community.
