Kentucky Youth Career Center

The Kentucky Youth Career Center (KYCC) is a workforce development program for  youth ages 16 to 24 in Jefferson County. KYCC has two major components:

  • A one-stop center for all youth in the Louisville metro area
  • An intensive program for out-of-school youth in the same age group

KYCC has trained staff who help young people on a walk-in basis with job search, job referrals, occupational research, career inventories, résumé building, online applications, and interview preparation. The intensive services for out-of-school youth consist of one-on-one career counseling by a personal career planner; free instructional services where

participants receive customized instruction in math, reading, and General Educational Development (GED) preparation; workforce education for training in soft skills; postsecondary and training preparation for transitioning into higher education; an incentive program; and a variety of seminars and mini-courses designed to give young people the skills they need to be successful in launching their own careers. KYCC's intensive program also offers financial assistance for occupational training to participants who qualify for federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services.

REimage, a program within KYCC, offers case management, workforce development, and educational services for court-involved youth, ages 14 to 24.
