Brent Conner Named New Principal at Jefferson County Traditional Middle School

Conner has more than 15 years of experience in education

Becoming the principal of Jefferson County Traditional Middle School is an exciting next step for Brent Conner. He’s transitioning into the role after serving as the assistant principal at Noe Middle School for the last six years.

“We are excited for Mr. Conner to join us as the leader of JCTMS,” JCPS Assistant Superintendent of Middle Schools Dr. Rob Fulk said. “He brings a passion for middle grade education and a wealth of experience from Noe and Kammerer.  We look forward to his energy and commitment to our students and the growth that will occur on the JCTMS campus.”

Conner has dedicated more than 15 years of his career to education after transitioning from the business world. He started his time in the district teaching social studies at Kammerer Middle School. Conner spent six years there before moving to Jeffersonville High School in 2011 to teach geography. He came back to JCPS a year later to become the assistant principal at Byck Elementary. Conner worked there for three years and took on the assistant principal role at Noe Middle School in 2015.

“I have a student centered approach,” Conner said. “I believe in student access to quality instruction and equitable practices. I believe in the possibility of our students and will strive to provide a safe, structured and welcoming school environment.”

Conner earned a bachelor’s degree from Walsh University, a master’s degree from Webster University, and another master’s degree from the University of Louisville.

Conner starts his new position on August 2.
