“I am thankful and honored to be the next principal at Frost/Stuart Academy,” Dawson said. “I am invested in this community and look forward to continuing to build positive relationships with all stakeholders. I am a servant leader who passionately believes in equitable and fair learning experiences where all students feel a sense of belonging. I believe every student can grow.”

Before becoming the assistant principal at Stuart in 2018 he was the special education implementation administrator at Oldham County Middle School for 10 years. Dawson was also a middle school teacher in Bullitt County for a couple of years after starting his career as an instructor in JCPS in 2003.

“Mr. Dawson has demonstrated his commitment to the Frost/Stuart campus and community during his four years at the school,” said Dr. Nate Meyer, assistant superintendent of accelerated improvement schools. “He is an extraordinary leader who will unite the students, staff, parents, and community to positively shape the culture of the Frost/Stuart Academy. Mr. Dawson sees the unlimited potential of the Frost/Stuart students and will ensure that the school is an exceptional place of student learning.”

“I love the Stuart community and the people in it,” Dawson added. “I love coming to work every day and building lifelong relationships. I believe Stuart is the place where I need to be.”
