JCPS to Assist Parents with School Choice Applications

In-person School Choice Night will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Dec. 1

November 30, 2021 – Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS), in partnership with the Louisville Urban League, will offer families an in-person opportunity to get questions answered about school choice options and assistance completing applications during the 2021 School Choice Night. The event will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the JCPS Shawnee Satellite Office, 4018 W. Market St.

During the event, families of JCPS students can receive in-person assistance completing the registration form or application process for the 2022-23 school year.

Children who will be 5 years old by Aug. 1, 2022 can apply for kindergarten during this time, and families of all students, including current pre-k, fifth-, and eighth-grade students, can apply for magnet schools and programs. Families who are new to JCPS or who have moved should bring their proof of address for registration purposes.

On-site interpreters will be available in Spanish, Arabic and Swahili.

The JCPS School Choice period ends Dec. 15, 2021.
