JCPS Launches 313-HELP

Dedicated customer service helpline a priority of Vision 2020

August 8, 2016 – Today, Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) Superintendent Dr. Donna Hargens announced the launch of 313-HELP – the district’s first-ever dedicated customer service helpline. The creation and implementation of the new JCPS helpline builds on one of the district’s key goals outlined in its Vision 2020 strategic plan: improving communication systems and expanding access to JCPS information.

“We’re excited that the creation of 313-HELP will streamline questions and reduce response times for JCPS families, stakeholders and others members of our community,” Dr. Hargens said. “With the launch of our new JCPS website and mobile app earlier this year, our helpline is another critical tool we have available to provide information through a customer-focused approach. By improving infrastructure, revitalizing our communication systems and enhancing and expanding modern technologies, we can better serve our school families and community.”

Starting today, team members staffing the new helpline will be available to help answer district- and school-related questions and resolve issues. During the school year, the JCPS Call Center will be open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Additionally, the call center staff will monitor a dedicated helpline email address (jcps.help@jefferson.kyschools.us), providing JCPS families another opportunity to submit questions and provide feedback.

“One of the great things that 313-HELP is going to do is give us the opportunity to track each call that we receive,” said JCPS Chief Operations Officer Mike Raisor. “Having that information available is going to help our team prepare for the kinds of questions people ask – enabling us to solve problems and provide solutions in a quick and efficient way.”

This week, JCPS also continues to staff its dedicated transportation hotline for parents. Parents can dial 485-RIDE or use the online JCPS Bus Finder tool to receive important information about their child’s bus number and find stops closest to their home.
