Dr. Pollio shares his vision for the district
On August 9, Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) Superintendent Dr. Marty Pollio joined Metro United Way and the Louisville Urban League to share his priorities and vision for the district. The community conversation, moderated by Louisville Public Media president and general manager Stephen George, gave attendees an opportunity to hear from Dr. Pollio about what he has done and continues to do to improve student learning, strengthen culture and climate, and improve organizational coherence in JCPS. Additionally, community members heard from Dr. Pollio about seven big shifts: the JCPS Backpack of Success Skills, the racial equity policy, transforming the instructional core, modernizing facilities, accelerating improvement schools, alternative school redesign, and Louisville Promise.
