Dos and Don'ts
DO use JCPS On-Demand Interpreting Service in the following settings:
- Emergencies, such as an ill or injured student, etc.
- Interpretation when parents visit or call school
- Phone calls
- Scheduling conferences/meetings
- Private matter when parent prefers not to use a local interpreter
DON'T use JCPS On-Demand Interpreting Service in the following settings:
- Daily classwork
- Student in the hospital (Hospitals have access to interpreters.)
- Police are involved. (Police have access to interpreters.)
- Family appointments that are not school-related
- American Sign Language (The district provides a similar service at no cost.)
