Healthy Kids = Ready Kids
Good health comes from good habits and wise choices. To ensure good health now and in the future, preschoolers must learn how to exercise, manage stress, keep clean, and decrease the risk of illness. Children must get into the habit of eating nutritious foods, getting plenty of sleep, and understanding how physical and emotional health are related. Research shows that healthy children are more likely to be ready for school.
A kindergarten-ready child:
- Eats a balanced diet.
- Gets plenty of rest.
- Receives all required immunizations and medical exams (physical, dental, and vision).
- Runs, jumps, climbs, and does other activities that develop large muscles and provide exercise.
- Uses pencils, crayons, scissors, and paints and does other activities that help develop small muscles.
