Western High School strives to provide all students with the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school and to assist in their successful transition to postsecondary education. At Western, our students graduate college-ready, career-experienced, goal-driven, and reality-certain. The Early College Program at Western is the only Early College Program in Jefferson County. Western students are able to earn up to 60 college credits within the Early College Program by the time they graduate high school, tuition-free. Western is also leading the way in the Academies of Louisville initiative as 1 of the 11 participating JCPS high schools opening as a wall-to-wall Academy school for the 2018-19 school year. Along with the Early College Program and Academies at Western, we offer the Advance Program, Advanced Placement (AP) classes, Comprehensive Program, Honors Program, and Rotary Scholarship Program.
