Tuition Reimbursement Guidelines for Classified Employees

Eligibility Requirements (must meet all three requirements*):

  1. Employed on a full-time basis by JCPS (AND)
  2. Accepted into an approved Teacher Education Preparation Program (AND)
  3. Pursuing critical needs content area certification (Approved Critical Needs for JCPS are Math, Science, Special Education, English as a Second Language [ESL], School Media Librarian, and IECE.)

If you are eligible for tuition reimbursement, you will need to complete and submit the following documents (ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE PDFs; web versions of a PDF are not accepted.):

  • Completed Google Form for each semester
  • A copy of unofficial transcripts reflecting, credit hours and grades earned (B or better). You must circle or highlight the completed classes pertaining to the semester.
  • A printout from the Bursar's Office showing your account for said semester. The printout must show your name, the amount charged, and how it was paid (scholarship/loan/grant/credit card/check, etc.) The best way to obtain this is by calling your Bursar's Office and asking them to send it to you. Proof of payment if made by you (cancelled check or 1st page of bank statement and page showing tuition being deducted from the account).
  • A signed copy of your program sheet (signed by advisor and student*)
  • A signed copy of the JCPS Professional Commitment Form for Tuition Reimbursement (stating you agree to work in the district for three years) This will be sent to you via email after we verify all other submitted documents.

Important Information for Certified/Classified Employees Applying for Tuition Reimbursement

  • Tuition reimbursement is limited based on available district funds.
  • There is no guarantee on reimbursement, and eligible requests will be processed in the order received. There will be a waiting list when funds are not available in the event that we are allotted more funding for reimbursement purposes.
  • The deadline for submitting complete requests is December 31 for the fall semester, May 30 for the spring semester, and August 31 for the summer semester. We will not take any submission after the established deadline since funds are limited and available on a fiscal year-by-year basis.
  • Incomplete submission of materials will result in delays or cancellation of the tuition reimbursement processing. Acceptable financial evidence is required. Since this process involves multiple offices in JCPS, submit all documents as one PDF. Only e-submissions will be processed.

*Note: This support is based on availability of funds.
