Working in partnership with parents and the community, we meet the needs of students to ensure that they all can reach their potential. School Highlights: 1:1 Chromebooks for first through fifth grades Our K–5 classroom teachers utilize a workshop approach to reading and math, which includes small-group instruction and ensures that every student’s needs are met. Each of our classrooms is equipped with interactive flat panels, SMART surround-sound systems, and wireless document cameras to enhance the learning experience. Compassionate Schools Project Participant— where every student receives instruction in conflict resolution and strategies on working with others as well as regulating emotions We emphasize the importance of working well with others. Our students receive instruction on various social skills and character traits in order to build their capacity in working with others as a lifelong skill. Our students are recognized daily for their behavior through our positive behavior Lion Card program. Our special area classes use a block schedule to allow students to have more in-depth, hands- on experiences in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), Visual Arts, Music, and Physical Education. Our arts program is enhanced through our participation in the 5x5 grants that allow artists-in- residence to work hands-on with our students as well as opportunities to visit museums in our area.
