Smyrna Elementary

The staff, parents, and community of Smyrna Elementary are committed partners, ensuring that our students achieve academic proficiency and develop socially, emotionally, and physically to become successful lifelong learners. We will educate each child using a challenging, comprehensive curriculum based on the Kentucky Performance Standards.

School Highlights:

• Provides full-time library media, music, Compassionate Schools Project (CSP) participation, and Science, Technology, Engineering, the
• Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) Lab
• Maintains a partnership with the Louisville Zoo and the Parklands of Floyds Fork Park Outdoor Classroom to enhance students’ social and academic success
• Incorporates The 7 Habits of Happy Kids into daily classroom instruction
• Offers an increased exposure to the arts through a 5x5 Fund for the Arts Grant, which allows the school to host artists-in-residence and visiting artists
• Provides extra support for all students through small focus groups in math and reading
• Provides Student-Led Conferences that allow students to share with their parents their accomplishments, areas of growth, and next steps (goals)
