Crisis Response

JCPS Crisis Response Team (CRT) members are vital resources that respond when events occur in JCPS. The central office crisis administrators collaborate with the local school leaders to provide services when school-level mental health teams need additional support. Our crisis response team includes School Counselors, School Mental Health Practitioners, School Family Resource and Youth Services Center Coordinators, School Safety Administrators, School Social Workers, and JCPS Psychologists. Most recently we added Pet Therapy to our services in JCPS to meet the unique needs of our students. Using best practices from the National Association of School Psychologists and the PREPaRE curriculum the crisis team is prepared to address the mental health issues associated with school crises. The PREPaRE model is built upon the components in the U.S. Department of Education’s Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools Guidance. We encourage our students, parents, and the community to contact the school if they have any concerns regarding safety or crisis support.
