Centurion Families:

We had a great first day back after winter break. A few things to bring to your attention:

HSU: Our school’s new Hispanic Student Union (HSU) will be hosting its first community service project—a food drive to support Kentucky Refugee Ministries—from Monday, January 12 through Friday, January 16. Food Drive Details: Donations: Canned goods and other non-perishable items. Students should turn in items to their advisory teachers. Each item donated is worth 3 PBIS points. Students who donate 5 items or more will receive a dress down day pass. We encourage all students to participate and help make this first HSU event a success! This is a great way to support our community while fostering service, leadership, and teamwork. Thank you for your support!

Girls Soccer Informational Meeting & Conditioning: Students and parents interested in the upcoming JCTMS girls soccer season there will be an informational meeting Thursday January 8 from 6:30-7:30 in the cafeteria. Please enter through entry #12 (cafeteria) in the back of the building. At this meeting, we will review expectations, tryout information, conditioning, and answer any questions about the soccer season. Additionally, soccer conditioning will begin on Monday, January 12th from 3:00–4:00 PM. All students who intend to try out for soccer this year are strongly encouraged to attend conditioning if at all possible, as it will help prepare them for the season. We look forward to seeing you at the meeting and are excited for a great soccer season! If you have any questions, please contact me at payton.parkerson@jefferson.kyschools.us.

Boys Soccer Informational Meeting: Students and parents interested in JCTMS boys soccer there will be an informational meeting Friday January 9 at 6:00 in the cafeteria. Please use entry #12 (cafeteria) in the back of the building.

Girls Flag Football Informational Meeting: Students and parents interested in GIRLS flag football there will be an informational meeting on Tuesday January 13 at 6:00 in the cafeteria. Any girls interested in playing this upcoming season should attend the meeting with parents/guardians. See coach Glass for more information.

AM DROP OFF: We understand the line for AM drop off is very long. This can improve with everyones help. Please have your students ready to exit the car when you stop in front of the school and on Edward Street from the corner to the parking lot entrance. Your students will have to walk. The more students exit cars the quicker the line will move. Please see the attached map. Please have your students exit the cars in the highlighted pink area on the map. Students should utilize entry #15 on the parking lot side of the building (Edwards St) and the front door. Again, your student will have to get out of the car and walk. Please do not wait until you get in front of the front steps to have your child exit the car. This small thing will improve the length and time of the line, but everyone has a role to play. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Doors to the school will open at 7:00 a.m.

Good evening, I hope everyone had a great holiday season. Happy New Year to everyone. I wanted to remind families of the change with morning drop off starting tomorrow morning, Monday January 5th.The doors to the building will open at 7:00a.m. both in the front of the school (entry #1) and on the side of the building (entry #15 Edward St). This goes into effect January 5 and will continue throughout the year. Please drop your students off on Morton Ave driving toward Bardstown Road or on Edward St (entry #15). Please have your students ready to exit the car when you stop in order to keep the line moving quickly. Please do not drop your students off driving from Bardstown Road. For thier safety, we do not want students crossing the street to enter the building. Our school day starts at 7:30. We will continue our same procedure with afternoon pickup.
