Our teams have worked hard to ensure our facilities and transportation routes are ready, and we’re excited to have students and staff back in our buildings.

Correction: The Immunization Clinic is Thursday, December 11. The original post did not have the correct date. Don't get stuck without one!

This is a gentle reminder that the upcoming Immunization Clinic for Klondike Elementary is just two weeks away.
As part of the preparation, vaccine consent forms should be sent home this week. Students who are not up to date on their immunizations should also receive a “Letter of Immunization” outlining which vaccines they are missing. Full details can be found in the protocol linked below..

Klondike families,
Due to today’s inclement weather and hazardous road conditions throughout the county, JCPS has made the decision to use a Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) day for students and staff.
On short-term NTI days, instruction is asynchronous and self-paced, meaning students will not receive live, online lessons from a teacher. Families received school-specific NTI plans last week. NTI Days are recognized as standard instructional days and will not extend the school calendar.

All JCPS schools and buildings will open and operate as normal on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025. Our crews tested the water and air quality at all of our schools and buildings today and everything came back normal. Louisville Metro Government officials have also informed us that it is safe to reopen schools. Our thoughts remain with all those affected by Tuesday’s tragic plane crash.
We appreciate your understanding as our schools and buildings are closed today while the city has implemented a necessary shelter-in-place due to last night’s tragic plane crash.
Today, our teams are checking the air and water quality at all of our schools and buildings. We are doing these checks out of an abundance of caution, as the safety of our students and staff is our top priority.
If you and your family need food assistance today, please reach out to Dare to Care Food Bank:

We know situations like what happened last night impact our students in different ways. Every JCPS school has a mental health team that is available to talk with students about how they are feeling. If your child would like support when we return to class, please reach out to their school.
As a reminder, we provide important updates via text, email, JCPS social media platforms, the JCPS app, our website, and local media.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and staff.
