The Jefferson County Board of Education (JCBE) held two open forums on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, providing the community with an opportunity to engage with the two finalists in the search for the next superintendent of Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS).

Moderated by Hazard Young Attea Associates (HYA), these public forums allowed attendees to hear directly from Ben Shuldiner and Dr. H. Brian Yearwood, the two individuals who were selected as finalists.

For those unable to attend the sessions, videos of the 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Community and Staff Forums are available for viewing on the JCBE YouTube page.

The selection of Shuldiner and Yearwood follows a comprehensive search process initiated after Dr. Marty Pollio announced his retirement in September 2024. The JCBE partnered with HYA to facilitate the search.

Share your feedback on the two finalists through the online forms HYA created. HYA will collect feedback until 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21.

The JCBE thanks the community for participating in this stage of the superintendent selection process.
