Since late July, Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) Superintendent Dr. Brian Yearwood has been on the move, wrapping up his first series of Community Conversations across the district.

Over the past several weeks, Dr. Yearwood visited Seneca, Fairdale, Valley, Male, Ballard, Jeffersontown and Shawnee high schools. At each stop, families, staff, students and community members gathered to talk about challenges, celebrate successes and offer suggestions for the future of JCPS.

Dr. Yearwood’s leadership team attended every event, answering questions and helping community members connect directly with district departments.

“These conversations are invaluable,” Dr. Yearwood said. “Every story, every concern and every idea helps us grow stronger as a district. I am grateful to the families, employees and community members who came out to share with us, and I look forward to continuing this dialogue.”

The Community Conversations are part of a larger effort by JCPS leadership to strengthen ties with the community and provide opportunities for open communication.
