This is a reminder that Grand Parent's lunch is this Friday. Lunches will be $5 per grandparent if you rsvp'd. RSVP's were due this past Friday. You will turn your money into the cafeteria staff on Friday as you go through the line.

We are excited to announce our upcoming Culture Fair, taking place on September 25, 2025 at Layne Elementary and we would love for you to be a part of it. This event is a vibrant celebration of the diverse cultures that make up our community, featuring food, music, performances, exhibits, and more.


To make this event a success, we are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to assist with various tasks, including:


-Event set-up and clean-up

-Booth and activity assistance

-Welcoming and guiding guests

-Cultural demonstrations and performances

-Food service and vendor coordination


Volunteering is a great opportunity to get involved, meet new people, gain experience, and be a part of something meaningful. Whether you can help for a few hours or the whole day, we appreciate any time you can give.

Hi Layne Families!

A form to RSVP for Grandparents' Lunch went home to families yesterday! Grandparents' Lunch will be on September 5th. Each lunch will cost $5 and the money will be turned in on the day of Grandparents' lunch! If your child's grandparents plan to attend please fill out the bottom part and send it in by August 29th. Families who do NOT RSVP may not receive a lunch. So it is imperative if you plan to attend that you send that form back in.

Kentucky law now requires that any electronic communications between school district staff or volunteers and students occur through board approved traceable communication systems, unless a parent or guardian has specifically authorized a staff member to communicate electronically on another platform. The approved traceable communication systems in JCPS are:
JCPS District Email
Apptegy Rooms and Alerts
Infinite Campus Messenger
Google Workspace for Education
Class Dojo
Microsoft for Education
Blackboard Ultra ONLY for JCPS eSchool and Pathfinder

If your student receives electronic communication from a JCPS staff member or volunteer outside of these platforms without your written consent, please notify your student’s principal. If you would like to authorize communication with your student by a JCPS staff member or volunteer outside of the board approved traceable communication systems, please utilize the Consent for Outside Traceable Communications Form in JCPS Parent Place.

If you would like to review any electronic communications your student has received from JCPS staff or volunteers on the approved traceable communications systems, please send a request to open.records@jefferson.kyschools.us The request should include:
The name of the student
The school the student attends
The email address of the student
The name of the adult with whom the student was in communication
The platform used for these communications
The date of the communication
The reason for the request
