Dear Parents,

Illness is on the rise at school. We have had several cases of pneumonia and strep. If your child has any of the following symptoms, please keep them home and take them to the primary care or urgent care.

  • Persistent cough and unable to cover their mouth.

    • They need to see a provider if:

      • The cough lasts longer then 2 days

      • The cough sounds like a bark or sounds to be deep in the chest

  • Temperature of 100.4 and higher.

    • They may return when they are fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication ( tylenol/ibuprofen)

  • Sore throat, throat may appear red, and swollen

    • If it is strep, they may return 24 hours after starting antibiotics.

  • Vomiting and/or diarrhea

    • They may return when the vomiting and the diarrhea has resolved.

If you are unsure if you should keep your student home today, please keep them home and call the school. It is better to keep them home as a precaution then to send them when they are sick.

Thank you for your cooperation.
