LOUISVILLE, Ky. – National Beta members from Tully Elementary and Norton Commons Elementary School (NCES) are celebrating their recent participation in the Kentucky Elementary Beta State Convention.

The National Beta State Convention empowers students to compete in various individual and team competitions and provides opportunities to run for several leadership positions. These victories at the state level provide an opportunity to compete at the national level. The National Convention will be held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee, during the summer of 2026.
“Beta Club has provided our students with an incredible opportunity to demonstrate their learning outside of the school setting. Because of Beta, our students are empowered to explore their interests and showcase their leadership skills," Tully Beta Club Sponsor Laurel Oskins said.
Tully Elementary inducted 48 students into its second Beta Club in the fall of 2025. Throughout the school year, Tully Betas have written letters to veterans, organized food drive items, conducted a random acts of kindness campaign, and collected care package items for children’s hospitals across the state.
NCES also saw record-breaking success at the convention. With a club of 115 fourth and fifth-grade members, NCES Betas are dedicated to the national motto: Let us LEAD by SERVING OTHERS. Each year, these students complete over 1,600 service hours, and their efforts were recognized this year with the Grand Champion State Service Project Award for their "Game On Hospital Activity Bags" donated to children’s hospitals.
At the convention, 70 NCES Betas competed in 46 events, supported by three sponsors and a massive volunteer network of 18 coaches and 50 chaperones. The club earned eight individual and three team awards.
With more than 500,000 active members and 14,000 clubs nationally and internationally, National Beta has become the nation’s largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization. National Beta promotes the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.
