✨ PEACE IN THE CHAOS | Self-care isn’t selfish—it’s essential.
JCPS families came together last week for an evening filled with food, games, and hands-on self-care resources designed to help everyone discover simple, meaningful ways to create inner peace. From laughter and connection to practical tools to take home, this event was all about caring for ourselves and each other.
Because when families feel supported, our whole community grows stronger.

Dear Stuart Families,
Students have the option for their NTI work today. Whichever option they choose should be turned in to their Lit Block teacher upon return to school.
Option 1: Write an essay that answers this question: What is the best season (spring, summer, fall, or winter)? Your essay should include an introduction , a minimum of 3 RACE body paragraphs, and a closing.
Option 2: Complete two squares on the NTI choice board. Last week, students completed six squares so this week they should complete two new ones.
6th Choice Board: http://bit.ly/3MnEwOM
7th Choice Board: https://bit.ly/4kkhYLs
8th Choice Board: https://bit.ly/45QzFfI
Any student needing assistance should reach out to their teachers through email or Google Classroom.
If your student has not returned last week's NTI work, please remind them to return it to their Lit Block teachers the day we return to campus. Participation in NTI work counts for their attendance.
Stay safe and warm.

Due to the additional snow and ice on roads and sidewalks throughout Jefferson County, JCPS will utilize a Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) day on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Students should follow their school’s established NTI protocols. NTI days are recognized as standard instructional days and will not extend the school calendar.
All after school athletic and extracurricular activities are canceled for Wednesday. If there are any changes to the YMCA CEP program, families will be notified by YMCA CEP.

Stuart Families, We have a few opportunities coming up where we would love to have you come in and help us. As you all remember, we had a plastic bag drive in the 1st semester. The reason for this was to collect plastic bags to create sleeping mats for the homeless community. We need help getting the 1st step of the process complete to begin creating the mats. Weather permitting, on Wednesday 2/4 , Monday 2/9 and/or Wednesday 2/11 if you would like to come in and learn the 1st step, we will be having a help session for parents during 3 different times at the school. Those times will be 8am - 9:30am, 12pm - 1:30 pm and 3pm - 4:30 pm. You can stay for the entire time or just for a short time. If you are interested, please email rashauna.tyson@jefferson.kyschools.us. We hope to see many of you, even if it is for a short time.
Thanks for always supporting your Stuart Spartans!

🚨REGULAR SCHEDULE | After careful consideration, JCPS will return to its normal, in-person schedule on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

We appreciate your continued support of our students and staff throughout JCPS.

Stuart Families, car riders should be dropped off and picked up in the lot of the school during morning drop off and afternoon dismissal times. The front loop is for buses only at that time. The back lot and walkways have been cleared of snow. Thank you.
DELAYED START| All JCPS schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday, February 2, 2026. Early Childhood classes are canceled for the day. All after school athletic events and extracurricular activities remain as scheduled. There is no change to dismissal times.
A delayed start will allow students to be at bus stops and walking to school in the daylight.

NTI DAY | Today, our teams spent the day evaluating road conditions and school campuses across the District. While many main roads remain in good shape, several side streets and neighborhood roadways are still icy.
These conditions have led us to utilize another Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) day on Friday, January 30. Students should follow their school-specific NTI instructions. NTI days are recognized as standard instructional days and will not extend the school calendar.
All athletic and extracurricular activities are canceled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

TECHNICAL ISSUE | We’re aware of a technical issue with the Parent Portal that is causing some 2026–27 school year enrollment information to display incorrectly. Our IT team is actively working to resolve the issue, and we anticipate it will be fixed by next week.
We’ll share an update once the issue is resolved. Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

❄ NTI DAYS | After evaluating road conditions throughout the community, Wednesday, Jan. 28 and Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, will be Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) Days for JCPS students and staff.
While our crews report that most main roads are in good shape, many side streets and neighborhood roads across the county remain hazardous. Due to these lingering conditions and low temperatures, we believe transitioning to NTI is the safest choice for our students and staff.
Students should follow their school’s established NTI protocols. NTI days are recognized as standard instructional days and will not extend the school calendar.
All after school athletic and extracurricular activities are canceled for Wednesday and Thursday. If there are any changes to the YMCA CEP program, families will be notified by YMCA CEP.
Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility as we navigate these winter conditions. Please stay warm and safe.
