Wheeler Families,
We are very excited to announce that the PTA and school have partnered to bring back two very special Wheeler traditions this year! We will host the Superman Luncheon over two days this fall semester and the Wonder Woman Luncheon over two days during the spring semester. Both events give students an opportunity to spend their lunch period with a positive role model in their lives.
Our first event is coming up next month as we welcome positive male role models for the Superman Luncheon! This could be a student’s father, uncle, big brother, coach, grandfather or any adult male that has a positive impact on their lives. Please read the directions carefully. These procedures are designed to ensure a fun experience for everyone while allowing us to safely accommodate the increased number of visitors on campus.
Here are a few important details to keep in mind:
1. Your student’s grade determines the date of the event.
o Thursday, November 19: Kindergarten, 1st, and 5th grades
o Friday, November 20: 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades
2. Each student may have one guest. This limit is necessary to stay within the capacity of our cafeteria and gym.
3. All guests must preregister by the deadline to attend. After registration closes, we will review the guest list to verify each guest’s approved connection to the student.
4. Wheeler is a Health Promotion School of Excellence, so fast food is not permitted.
Guests may bring a packed lunch from home, pre-purchase a school lunch in advance, or simply enjoy the time visiting with their student.
Please refer to your student’s event flyer for complete details. Flyers will be specific to each event date and will be sent home in student backpacks, posted in the JCPS App, and shared electronically with families soon. Registration links will not be posted publicly on social media.

Like last year, Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) will be a combination of asynchronous instruction through Google Classroom assignments and scheduled times when teachers are available to provide support.
As we prepare for the possibility of NTI days, we want to make sure every student has the technology needed to access Google Classroom and participate in learning from home.

Visitor Reminders
• Please check in at the front office upon arrival to receive a visitor badge.
• Visitors must exit campus by 1:50 p.m.
• Visitors will not have access to the building or restrooms.

• Please take photos of your own child only.
Help Your Runner Be Successful
• Dress your student in layers. The morning will start cool, but temperatures are expected to warm up.
• Send your student with a hat or apply sunscreen before school.
• Students can bring a water bottle.
