Ballard continues to rank among the top schools in the state for a number of National Merit Finalists and Governor’s Scholars Program participants. Ballard has some of the highest state assessment scores of all Jefferson County non-selective schools, and students annually outperform Kentucky and U.S. averages on the SAT, Advanced Placement (AP), and ACT tests. Ballard is leading the way in the Academies of Louisville initiative as one of the 11 original JCPS high schools that opened as a wall-to-wall Academy school. With ten pathway options across three different Academies, Ballard students have the opportunity to pursue programs that personally interest them. Students across all Academies benefit from unique experiences, such as hands-on training and mentoring from industry professionals. These experiences give them real world skills and practical knowledge and provide an advantage for college and career success.
