With Dr. Marty Pollio retiring this summer, the board has begun the process of hiring his successor. To assist in this effort, board members are inviting the public to complete a survey that asks about the qualities and priorities they’d like to see from the next leader of JCPS.

✅ BOARD UPDATE | During yesterday's Jefferson County Board of Education (JCBE) meeting, the Constitutional Oath of Office was administered to JCBE members Gail Logan Strange (District 1), Tricia Lister (District 2), Trevin Bass (District 4), and Taylor Everett (District 7), who were elected in November.
Also during last night's meeting, Dr. Corrie Shull was elected chairperson of the JCBE, and James Craig was elected vice chairperson.
Thank you to all of our JCBE members for their dedication to JCPS!

Due to forecasted frigid temperatures in the early morning hours on Wednesday, January 22, we have made the decision to use a Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) day for students and staff. This decision was made with the safety and well-being of our students in mind, as they would be waiting at bus stops and walking to school in extremely cold conditions. We are also taking into consideration our school buildings and the stress these low temperatures could cause on the facilities. The National Weather Service tells us temperatures could drop as low as 10 below with windchill.
On short-term NTI days, instruction is asynchronous and self-paced, meaning students will not receive live, online lessons from a teacher.
