Dear JCPS families,
We appreciate your understanding as our schools and buildings are closed today while the city has implemented a necessary shelter-in-place due to last night’s tragic plane crash.
Today, our teams are checking the air and water quality at all of our schools and buildings. We are doing these checks out of an abundance of caution, as the safety of our students and staff is our top priority.
If you and your family need food assistance today, please reach out to Dare to Care Food Bank:
Website: DaretoCare.org
Phone: (502) 966-3821
We know situations like what happened last night impact our students in different ways. Every JCPS school has a mental health team that is available to talk with students about how they are feeling. If your child would like support when we return to class, please reach out to their school.
As a reminder, we provide important updates via text, email, JCPS social media platforms, the JCPS app, our website, and local media.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and staff.

Cochran Families,
We want to inform you that our first schoolwide incentive—Carnival Day—originally scheduled for tomorrow, is being rescheduled to October 17th due to weather conditions.
The recent rain has impacted our plans, and we want to ensure students have the best experience possible. Carnival Day is a reward for those who have earned enough Dojo points, and we appreciate your understanding and support as we make this adjustment.
