Crosby Families,
As we approach the Thanksgiving and Winter breaks, we ask for your continued partnership in maintaining the positive Culture and Climate that makes our school #ThePlaceToBe.
This week, please reinforce the importance of these core agreements at home:
Character Strong: Discuss the character traits your student is currently learning through the Character Strong program.
Daily Expectations & ROAR: We emphasize our ROAR expectations daily, which earn students PBIS Reward Points. Please review these with your student and ensure they are meeting these standards consistently:
Monday: Ready and Responsible
Tuesday: Own your actions
Wednesday: Actively Participate
Thursday: Respect yourself and others
Friday: ROAR (A day to bring all expectations together!)
By reinforcing these expectations together, we ensure a focused and respectful learning environment right up until the holidays!

All JCPS schools and buildings will open and operate as normal on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025. Our crews tested the water and air quality at all of our schools and buildings today and everything came back normal. Louisville Metro Government officials have also informed us that it is safe to reopen schools. Our thoughts remain with all those affected by Tuesday’s tragic plane crash.
We appreciate your understanding as our schools and buildings are closed today while the city has implemented a necessary shelter-in-place due to last night’s tragic plane crash.
Today, our teams are checking the air and water quality at all of our schools and buildings. We are doing these checks out of an abundance of caution, as the safety of our students and staff is our top priority.
If you and your family need food assistance today, please reach out to Dare to Care Food Bank:

We know situations like what happened last night impact our students in different ways. Every JCPS school has a mental health team that is available to talk with students about how they are feeling. If your child would like support when we return to class, please reach out to their school.
As a reminder, we provide important updates via text, email, JCPS social media platforms, the JCPS app, our website, and local media.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and staff.

Yesterday at our Gold Day, our teachers engaged in valuable professional learning focused on strengthening classroom instruction and deepening our support for students. Through roundtable discussions and collaborative planning, teachers shared strategies, reflected on students, and worked together to ensure every student at Crosby continues to grow both academically and socially. These training days are an essential part of maintaining high-quality instruction and making sure every Crosby student receives the support they need to achieve at a high level.
As always, thank you for your continued partnership and trust. Together, we’re building a culture where all students are Ready and Responsible, take Ownership of their Actions, are Active Participants, and show Respect, the core of Crosby’s R.O.A.R. pillars!
