Crosby Baseball: Tryouts will begin next week, Aug. 4-10th. ALL PLAYERS MUST PRE-REGISTER, walk-up tryouts will not be allowed.

6th Grade parents:
CHOSE 1 of 2 sessions
When: Monday Aug. 4th OR Tuesday Aug. 5th
Where: Lyndon Rec Fields
Time: 6-8pm

7th and 8th Grade:
When: Friday Aug. 8th
Where: Eastern High School
Time: 6-8pm

MAKE UP SESSION:
When: Sunday Aug. 10th
Where: Eastern High School
Time: 1-3pm

7th/8th Graders are highly encouraged to attend Friday's session, Sunday's session will be contingent on heat index. Team Rosters will be decided on Sunday night, Aug. 10th. Practices will start Monday, Aug. 11th. Please email session preference and confirmation of registration for tryouts.

Players need to bring: cleats, baseball pants, glove, baseball hat, and WATER. Bat and helmet preferred but not required. Players MUST wear a protective cup.

ALL PLAYERS MUST HAVE A COMPLETED JCPS MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETIC PHYSICAL PACKET COMPLETED and turned into AD's office at Crosby prior to participating.

Parents are welcome to attend tryouts but cheering or coaching from the stands is not allowed. Please try to remain relatively close to the tryout field in case of player injury, though rare in occurrence.

Crosby Orientation Details - THIS WEDNESDAY - July 30th!

6th Grade Orientation:

  • 6 pm - 7:30 pm

  • Both Students and Parents are welcome to attend

  • Formal Schedule for Students and Parents to follow and meet teachers and staff!

7th and 8th Orientation:

  • 9 - 11 AM or 1 - 3 PM

  • Students and Parents stop by any time during these two time slots to pick up student schedules, purchase gear from the bookstore, and take a quick self-guided tour of the building.

6th Grade Distinguished Math Scholar (DMS) Camp

  • Invite only - from 9 AM to 11 AM

  • Parents drop off students at the front entrance and pick up promptly at 11 AM

  • All are welcome back to campus at 6 PM for orientation!

CROSBY BASEBALL: With record high temperatures this week and a mandatory coaches meeting  with JCPS on Thursday afternoon, Baseball conditioning is cancelled.  All interested 6th grade students and families are encouraged to stop by the Baseball Booth at the Crosby Open House on Wednesday to register.  An email will be sent to all who are registered regarding morning conditioning.  Spots will be limited.

Crosby Baseball: Official Tryouts date, time and locations will be announced the first week of school, be watching for that information. If you have not registered your player, do so by emailing: crosbybaseball@yahoo.com. Here are the summer conditioning dates:

Tuesday, 7/29- 6:00-8:00 PM: No glove or bat needed. Shorts and running shoes HIGHLY recommended. No crocs, sandals, or open toe shoes allowed.

Thursday 7/31- 6-8pm
Monday, 8/4- 6-8pm
Tuesday, 8/5- 6-8pm
All players must wear supporter, cup, long baseball pants, baseball hat, and cleats. Highly recommend to bring a glove and helmet. A bat can be provided. Players must also bring water.

All players must have a completed JCPS Middle School Physical Packet completed to participate in conditioning and tryouts.
