He's one of the top scorers in the state and is the city leader in points per game. Greetings DuBois Family,

We are excited to welcome our scholars back for another empowering year at W.E.B. DuBois Academy! Our mission to provide an academically excellent, culturally affirming, and character-driven experience continues with a renewed sense of purpose and pride. As we prepare for the first day, here are a few important reminders to help ensure a smooth start for everyone:

✅ Arrival and Dismissal
We kindly ask that your scholar arrive and depart the way they will go home each day starting on the very first day. Whether it's riding the bus, walking, or parent pick-up, we want them to begin practicing independence and consistency from day one.

📵 Cell Phone Policy
Cell phones must be powered off and out of sight from 7:00 AM – 2:10 PM.
Students are welcome to use their phones after dismissal. Thank you for helping us maintain a focused and respectful learning environment.

🎒 Backpack Policy
All students are required to bring a clear backpack. This is a part of our schoolwide safety protocols.

👔 Uniform Guidelines
ALL students must be in full uniform upon entering the building. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Uniform Requirements:

Tie – Any DuBois tie or bowtie

Dress Shirt – Solid white or solid light blue (tucked in)

Blazer – Navy with DuBois crest

V-Neck Sweater – Navy with DuBois crest (HS Only)

Cardigan – Navy with DuBois crest

DuBois Polo – Navy or Orange with DuBois crest (HS Only – not yet available)

Pants – Khaki (No shorts)

Shoes – Brown or black dress shoes (No Crocs, No Slides)

Tennis Shoes – High School students only

Belt – Brown or black (No studded belts)

We take pride in our appearance and appreciate your partnership in making sure your scholar is dressed for success each day.
