Klondike Families,

Thank you for helping us have a successful opening day of school!

We are sharing an updated version of our arrival and dismissal procedures to help improve the safety and efficiency of our systems.

Please remember that anyone picking up a student must have:

• A valid photo ID
• The student’s numbered pickup placard

Please bring both items every day. Students cannot be released without proper identification and the numbered placard.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and continued partnership as we work to make arrival and dismissal safer and more efficient for everyone.

JCPS Board Vacancy
Dear Klondike Lane Elementary Families,

Welcome to a new school year! We are excited to partner with you as we prepare for another year of learning, growth, and success for our students.

We want to share two important dates as we begin the school year:

August 3 - 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

During orientation, families will:
- Pick up important back-to-school packets
- Learn who their child's teacher will be
- Verify transportation information
- Receive important school information and updates

It is imperative that every family stop by the office during orientation. Verifying transportation and reviewing student information helps us ensure a safe and successful start to the school year for all students.

Open House - August 27 at 5:30 p.m. - Open House is a wonderful opportunity for families to:

- Meet their child's teacher
- Learn about classroom expectations and routines
- Gain insight into the curriculum and learning goals
- Ask questions and build connections for a successful school year
- Learn about assignments that meet students where they are instructionally
- Site Based Decision Making (SBDM) interest

We are looking forward to welcoming our students and families back to Klondike Lane Elementary. Together, we can make this school year a positive and rewarding experience for every child.

If you have any questions, please contact the school office.

We can't wait to see you on August 3!

❤️ FROM THE HEART 📝 | We invited seniors to write a letter to their favorite teacher. For #TeacherAppreciationWeek, we're sharing a few of the heartfelt responses.

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week. To: Mrs. Lopez. Fern Creek High School Dear Mrs. Lopez, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for everything you've done for me. When I look back on my high school experience, I don’t think about or talk about my grade in your class, but rather, I remember and talk about you. There were days when I needed more than just a teacher, and somehow, you always knew. You are someone who listens without judging, someone who can make anyone feel safe and welcome. Now, as I’m about to graduate high school, I can wholeheartedly say you were one of the most important people in my high school journey. You changed me in ways I didn’t even realize at the time. You made me realize that I really can do anything I put my mind to. I don't think I've said it enough and I will continue to say it, thank you Mrs. Lopez. From Itzel R. 12th Grade Fern Creek High School
