The Layne Food Pantry will be open on Tuesday 9/29/26 from 9am-11am. If you want to request a food box you must reserve your time slot using the link below. Once you sign up you will receive an email within 24 hours with confirmation.

Get ready for Red Ribbon Week! 🎀 We're celebrating healthy choices and positive decisions from October 26-30, and it's going to be fantastic. Each day brings a fun new theme, so check out the flyer for all the details on how your student can participate. Let's make it a week to remember! 🌟
🎉 An all-school picnic is coming to Layne on Friday (weather permitting), and it was such a huge hit last year that we couldn't wait to do it again. ☀️ If you'd like, please send your student with a towel or small blanket to spread out on while they enjoy their meal outside. 🧺 It's a wonderful way for our school community to come together and make some sunny memories! 😊

Our Layne Leaders showed up in full teal and purple spirit yesterday for suicide prevention week 💜💙 The energy was incredible, and it was so meaningful to see our students stand together for such an important cause. We're so proud of their compassion and commitment to supporting one another. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this a day of awareness and unity! 🤝

☀️ ENJOY THE LONG WEEKEND | JCPS will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.
The spirit wear store is back in action! 🎉 Mark your calendars because shopping opens September 11th and runs through September 26th. We've got exciting news—smaller sizes are now available so our younger students can rock the school spirit too! 👕✨ Just a heads up: allow 2-3 weeks after the store closes for delivery to school and for your student to bring their order home. Don't miss out on showing your school pride! 💙
🍧 Sweet news! Kona Ice is rolling back into our school on September 24th! If your student would like to enjoy a frozen treat, please send them with $5 in exact change that day. It's a fun way to celebrate together!
HEAT UPDATE | Friday JCPS outdoor athletics start time moved to 8 p.m.
Due to the heat advisory on Friday, September 4, JCPS schools must adhere to the following updated schedule requirements:
- Football Games: Must now start at 8 p.m. or later (pushed back from 7 p.m.)
- Outdoor Practices and Other Competitions: Must be held in the morning or start at 8 p.m. or later
Reminder: All outdoor practices and competitions remain canceled today, Thursday, September 3.
