📢 TONIGHT | JCPS will host one more Community Conversations forum with Superintendent Dr. Brian Yearwood. All are welcome to attend this evening, Sept. 4, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Academy @ Shawnee!

The students participating in the Cooking Matters Program enjoyed making fruit tarts today.

Layne's Fall Uniform Picture day is coming up! It will be on September 23rd, 2025 during the school day! Please make sure your student is in school uniform! If you have any questions about the uniform, please see Layne's Uniform Policy for guidance.
Picture ordering information will be sent home with students on picture day.

This is a reminder that Grand Parent's lunch is this Friday. Lunches will be $5 per grandparent if you rsvp'd. RSVP's were due this past Friday. You will turn your money into the cafeteria staff on Friday as you go through the line.

COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS | We had another great community forum Tuesday night at Jeffersontown High School! Thank you to everyone who has joined these events to hear from Dr. Brian Yearwood. The superintendent has enjoyed listening, learning, and getting to know you.

We are excited to announce our upcoming Culture Fair, taking place on September 25, 2025 at Layne Elementary and we would love for you to be a part of it. This event is a vibrant celebration of the diverse cultures that make up our community, featuring food, music, performances, exhibits, and more.


To make this event a success, we are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to assist with various tasks, including:


-Event set-up and clean-up

-Booth and activity assistance

-Welcoming and guiding guests

-Cultural demonstrations and performances

-Food service and vendor coordination


Volunteering is a great opportunity to get involved, meet new people, gain experience, and be a part of something meaningful. Whether you can help for a few hours or the whole day, we appreciate any time you can give.
