Dear Families,

Newcomer Academy is excited to announce that our school is piloting a new system designed to better support our multilingual families when visiting our building.

This new system will make it easier for you to:

  • Communicate with office staff in your preferred language

  • Get immediate support without waiting for an interpreter

  • Use it easily with just your smartphone or device – no extra apps needed

  • Strengthen communication between you and staff

How it works:

When you arrive at the school, you will notice a QR code posted next to the doorbell. To use the system, simply:

  1. Scan the QR code with your smartphone or device

  2. Choose your preferred language from the language menu

  3. If your language has different dialects, select the one that applies to you

  4. Name and email address are not required

  5. Tap the green button labeled Join Room and allow a moment for our office staff to respond

  6. When connected, you can either type your message using your device’s keyboard or speak by pressing and holding the microphone icon. To hear the office staff, please unmute the speaker icon on your screen

We are excited to pilot this initiative and look forward to hearing your feedback as we continue working to make our schools more welcoming and accessible for all families.

Sincerely,

Gwen Snow

Principal
