JCPS believes that the more we understand the opinions of our most important stakeholders, which are the families of our students, the more informed we can be in the decisions we make. These decisions help shape the future of the OAS, and we want to ensure that each family has a chance to make their voice heard.

This time of year is a great time for a reminder that the front entrances to OAS are only for our OAS staff and JCPS buses during arrival (8:00-8:40 AM) and dismissal (3:00-3:40 PM).
All students need to use our car rider line. If you are not aware or new to the school, the directions will be attached below to help. If you still have questions, please contact OAS by phone.
Directions for Parents/Guardians Morning and Afternoon Drop-off and Pick -up:
From Southern Parkway or Taylor Blvd, you will turn into the parking area of Iroquois High School (4615 Taylor Blvd.) and follow the one-way road that leads to Olmsted Academy South School (5650 Southern Parkway). You will follow the one-way road that will be on the right side of OAS as you approach from the back of the school. This is the car rider pickup and drop off line.
An Administrator will be there to assist you as you pull closer to the pick-up or drop-off spot(s).

We are finishing up the first half of what is turning out to be an amazing year here at OAS. Normally at this time of year, we start to see some of our policies not being followed and this year is no different. We have made morning and afternoon announcements on these policies each day this week to ensure all students are aware of the expectations OAS has for them. Please take a look at your students' agenda to see our student dress code. These are a few policies we are seeing the largest need for correction:
-No hoodies
-No quarter zips
-NO slide-in shoes, Crocs, bubble shoes, house shoes, or footies allowed
-Clear, plastic water bottles only (no glass, no Yeti's or Yeti/Stanley style cups)
-NO headphones, phones, AirPods, wireless earbuds, etc
At OAS we use a progressive discipline policy for our dress code violations, which you can find at the bottom of our dress code policy.
Olmsted Academy South: Our Dress Code & Personal Items Policy 25-26 is available at the following link, in your student's agenda, and on our website. https://www.jefferson.kyschools.us/o/oas/page/official-dress-code Our Cell Phone Policy 25-26 is available in your student's agenda or on our website. https://www.jefferson.kyschools.us/o/oas/page/cell-phone-policy
🌼 Spring Break is April 6–10, 2026. 🌼

This message is a reminder of our NTI plan at OAS, just in case we have an NTI day.
In order to keep our families informed with the needed information, we would like to provide you with our Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) plan. As part of our NTI plan, students were given NTI packets during our last weather event. These packets are only to be completed for an NTI day that is called by JCPS.
The second choice board packet was sent home with students on Friday, these packets were in pink.
In your email, I have attached a copy of the NTI plan and a digital copy of the second choice board packet. The same choice board was designed to be used for multiple NTI days, as students are asked to pick 1 task from each category for each NTI day.

Students can participate in Thursday's and Friday's Spirit Week dress-up. On Thursday, students will be able to wear their favorite Tree Toppers, this is festive headgear. Students can wear festive hats, do their hair in a festive manner, but will have to continue to remain within the school regulations and guidelines. Hoodies, gear that covers your entire face, or anything that is inappropriate will not be permitted. You will be asked to take it off and it will be stored in an AP office.
Friday is Sweater Weather, silly socks and leg warmers day. Again, student's are being asked to participate and encouraged to wear their most festive wear but stay within the guidelines outlined in the student dress code, in their agenda. Anything with inappropriate wording, inappropriate gestures or revealing wear will be asked to change back into their school uniforms. Parents, please monitor your child's clothing prior to them going to school.

Thanks!

Tomorrow Dec 15th is a JCPS NTI day.
In order to keep our families informed with the needed information, we would like to provide you with our Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) plan. As part of our NTI plan, students were given NTI packets during our last weather event. As stated in the directions on the choice board, students are to complete one item from each choice board column on a separate sheet of paper. These papers are to be turned in to their teachers on their return to OAS.
In your email, we have attached a copy of the NTI plan and a digital copy of the choice board packet. The same choice board was designed to be used for multiple NTI days.
