DELAYED START| All JCPS schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday, February 2, 2026. Early Childhood classes are canceled for the day. All after school athletic events and extracurricular activities remain as scheduled. There is no change to dismissal times.
A delayed start will allow students to be at bus stops and walking to school in the daylight.
NTI DAY | Today, our teams spent the day evaluating road conditions and school campuses across the District. While many main roads remain in good shape, several side streets and neighborhood roadways are still icy.
These conditions have led us to utilize another Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) day on Friday, January 30. Students should follow their school-specific NTI instructions. NTI days are recognized as standard instructional days and will not extend the school calendar.
All athletic and extracurricular activities are canceled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

TECHNICAL ISSUE | We’re aware of a technical issue with the Parent Portal that is causing some 2026–27 school year enrollment information to display incorrectly. Our IT team is actively working to resolve the issue, and we anticipate it will be fixed by next week.

OAS NTI Reminders: As we move into day 1 of NTI we wanted to send another reminder of student expectations during NTI. Students should answer one question from each category of the NTI Choice Board 2 packet today and tomorrow. If NTI is extended into a day 3 on Friday, you will also use NTI Choice Board 2 for that day.

OAS NTI Reminders: As we get closer to the weekend it looks more and more likely that winter weather will impact next week. If that is the case, we want students to be prepared for NTI.
Before winter break, we sent home new NTI packets (pink) we have also offered replacement packets this week to students if they need one. This time of year is a great time for a reminder that the front entrances to OAS are only for our OAS staff and JCPS buses during arrival (8:00-8:40 AM) and dismissal (3:00-3:40 PM).
All students need to use our car rider line. If you are not aware or new to the school, the directions will be attached below to help. If you still have questions, please contact OAS by phone.

From Southern Parkway or Taylor Blvd, you will turn into the parking area of Iroquois High School (4615 Taylor Blvd.) and follow the one-way road that leads to Olmsted Academy South School (5650 Southern Parkway). You will follow the one-way road that will be on the right side of OAS as you approach from the back of the school. This is the car rider pickup and drop off line.
An Administrator will be there to assist you as you pull closer to the pick-up or drop-off spot(s).

Normally at this time of year, we start to see some of our policies not being followed and this year is no different. We have made morning and afternoon announcements on these policies each day this week to ensure all students are aware of the expectations OAS has for them. Please take a look at your students' agenda to see our student dress code. These are a few policies we are seeing the largest need for correction:
-No hoodies
-No quarter zips
-NO slide-in shoes, Crocs, bubble shoes, house shoes, or footies allowed
-Clear, plastic water bottles only (no glass, no Yeti's or Yeti/Stanley style cups)
-NO headphones, phones, AirPods, wireless earbuds, etc
At OAS we use a progressive discipline policy for our dress code violations, which you can find at the bottom of our dress code policy.
