Hello Crosby Families,
What an amazing first two days here at Crosby Middle School. I am excited to see everyone back at it for a full week of learning opportunities for our students. As this is my first official weekly slide deck, please take a moment to review our updated school policies, key calendar dates, and communication tools so you can stay connected.
This week, you’ll receive more information about your students' classes and content covered, as well as Chromebook distribution, to help make this first full week smooth for everyone. Make sure to ask your student about the JCPS Device User Agreement that we sent home on Friday. We need this signed and returned in order for students to be given a Chromebook for the year.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We’re going to make 2025–26 a fantastic year for our students!

What an incredible start to the 2025–26 school year! Our students brought awesome energy and a readiness to learn, and our staff went above and beyond to make these first two days engaging and welcoming. I am so proud of the teamwork and positivity I’ve seen. This is going to be a fantastic year at #ThePlaceToBe = Crosby Middle School!
Parents, this Monday you will receive our first weekly slide deck, which includes everything you need to know for the upcoming week and beyond. In preparation for Chromebook distribution, we have sent home hard copies of the JCPS Device Usage Agreement. Make sure to sign and have your student return to school. While some parents and guardians may have already completed this in the JCPS Parent Portal, please review the Crosby Repair Policy printed on the back of the form. All documents will also be linked in the weekly update and posted on our website.

Players need to bring a tennis racket and water. Meet in Mr. Sacksteder's room immediately upon school dismissal, room 116. Practice and match times will be posted in Sportsyou.

MAKE UP SESSION:
When: Sunday Aug. 10th
Where: Eastern High School
Time: 1-3pm
7th/8th Graders are highly encouraged to attend Friday's session, Sunday's session will be contingent on heat index. Team Rosters will be decided on Sunday night, Aug. 10th. Practices will start Monday, Aug. 11th. Please email session preference and confirmation of registration for tryouts.
Players need to bring: cleats, baseball pants, glove, baseball hat, and WATER. Bat and helmet preferred but not required. Players MUST wear a protective cup.
ALL PLAYERS MUST HAVE A COMPLETED JCPS MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETIC PHYSICAL PACKET COMPLETED and turned into AD's office at Crosby prior to participating.
Parents are welcome to attend tryouts but cheering or coaching from the stands is not allowed. Please try to remain relatively close to the tryout field in case of player injury, though rare in occurrence.

TOMORROW - 6th-grade orientation time is 6:00-7:30 pm. Doors open at 5:30
DMS Camp is only for those 6th graders who received a letter in the mail inviting them to the camp. If you received the text/email regarding camp, it was a reminder for those who had already received the letter.

6 pm - 7:30 pm
Both Students and Parents are welcome to attend
Formal Schedule for Students and Parents to follow and meet teachers and staff!
7th and 8th Orientation:
9 - 11 AM or 1 - 3 PM
Students and Parents stop by any time during these two time slots to pick up student schedules, purchase gear from the bookstore, and take a quick self-guided tour of the building.
6th Grade Distinguished Math Scholar (DMS) Camp
Invite only - from 9 AM to 11 AM
Parents drop off students at the front entrance and pick up promptly at 11 AM
All are welcome back to campus at 6 PM for orientation!
