Dear JCPS Families,

It is with a heart full of excitement and a deep sense of responsibility that I introduce myself as your new Superintendent of Jefferson County Public Schools. As a dad and educator, I understand the hopes, dreams, and even the concerns you hold for your children's education, and I am honored to join this vibrant community.

Our district is home to more than 96,000 incredible students, each with their own unique talents, dreams, and potential. I want to convey to you, unequivocally, my profound belief in every single one of them. I believe in their innate curiosity, their capacity for growth and their unique abilities that make our student body so wonderfully diverse and strong.

My commitment is to ensure that every child in JCPS has access to an exceptional education that nurtures their individual strengths, challenges them to reach new heights, and prepares them not just for academic success, but for a fulfilling life beyond our school walls. We are dedicated to creating safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environments where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.

The partnership between our schools and your homes is incredibly powerful. Your involvement and insights are invaluable, and I am eager to work alongside you to create the best possible future for all of our students.

I look forward to the opportunity to connect with many of you in the coming months, whether at school events, community gatherings, or through various outreach initiatives. Together, we will ensure that every JCPS student realizes their full potential.

Thank you for entrusting us with your children's education. I am truly excited about what we will achieve together.

Sincerely,

Dr. Brian Yearwood

Superintendent
