✅ Educational rights and protections under the McKinney-Vento Act
✅ Transportation assistance to and from school
✅ School supplies, clothing, and other needed resources

Families had the chance to immerse in a “day in the life of a student” by rotating through sessions that mirrored a scholar’s school schedule. Each stop provided valuable tools, strategies, and resources to support learning at home, including:
✅ MAP Summary Breakdown
✅ Home Folders & Reflections
✅ Family/Teacher Communication
✅ Edmentum/Study Island Platforms
✅ Strategies for At-Home Practice
✅ Infinite Campus & Google Classroom Support
We were also excited to send families home with complimentary literacy workbooks to keep the learning going! Along with the opportunity to connect with our local Library and receive free books and Library Cards.
Thank you to everyone who came out and partnered with us in supporting our scholars’ success!

Kentucky law now requires that any electronic communications between school district staff or volunteers and students occur through board approved traceable communication systems, unless a parent or guardian has specifically authorized a staff member to communicate electronically on another platform. The approved traceable communication systems in JCPS are:
· JCPS District Email
· Apptegy Rooms and Alerts
· Infinite Campus Messenger
· Google Workspace for Education
· Class Dojo
· Microsoft for Education
· Blackboard Ultra ONLY for JCPS eSchool and Pathfinder
If your student receives electronic communication from a JCPS staff member or volunteer outside of these platforms without your written consent, please notify your student’s principal. If you would like to authorize communication with your student by a JCPS staff member or volunteer outside of the board approved traceable communication systems, please utilize the Consent for Outside Traceable Communications Form in JCPS Parent Place.
If you would like to review any electronic communications your student has received from JCPS staff or volunteers on the approved traceable communications systems, please send a request to open.records@jefferson.kyschools.us The request should include:
1. The name of the student
2. The school the student attends
3. The email address of the student
4. The name of the adult with whom the student was in communication
5. The platform used for these communications
6. The date of the communication
7. The reason for the request

-Please make sure your scholars know their car rider numbers as well as first and last name. You can practice this with them at home
-Please remind your scholars that during dismissal they should be quiet and actively listening for their car rider number.
-Families please make sure you are entering the car rider line at a speed limit of 5 mph. You must drive slow once you are on school property.
-Please make sure you safely pull your car all the way up behind the car in front of you. Gaps between cars does not allow us to utilize the car rider loop space for efficient arrival and dismissal
-Please pay attention to what line you are directed to enter in.
Lastly please continue to give us grace as we perfect our car rider process. A reminder that as our process becomes more efficient the line will move faster. We appreciate your cooperation.
