Our future engineers are hard at work in Mr. Rahmel’s Engineering and Design class! 🏠💜
Students are putting their creativity and problem-solving skills into action as they design and build model houses. This hands-on project gives students the opportunity to turn their ideas into reality while learning the importance of planning, precision, teamwork, and perseverance.
At Olmsted Academy South, we are proud to provide meaningful learning experiences that challenge our students to think critically, create boldly, and develop skills that will prepare them for future success.
Great work, Owls! We cannot wait to see the finished houses! 🦉✨

We are incredibly grateful for the generous donation of personal hygiene products for our students. Support like this goes beyond the items in the boxes; it reminds our students that they are surrounded by a community that cares about them, believes in them, and is willing to show up for them.
At OAS, we truly believe that every student, every day, every year and every interaction matters. We are thankful to have community partners who help us live that belief.
Thank you, Burnett Avenue Baptist Church, for investing in our students and our school community!

We are excited to welcome Joyce Vale to OAS!

Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to ensure a positive, focused, and respectful learning environment for all students.
After receiving feedback from families and reviewing our dress code expectations with the Dress Code Committee, we have made a few minor adjustments and clarifications to our dress code. These updates do not significantly change our dress code or require families to purchase new clothing. Rather, they provide additional flexibility by allowing certain items that many of our students may already own, while still maintaining consistent expectations across our school.
An updated copy of the dress code is attached for your review. Beginning Monday, students will be expected to follow the updated dress code, and progressive discipline will be implemented for students who are not in compliance.
We ask families to please review the updated dress code with their student this weekend and help ensure they arrive at school dressed appropriately each day.
We understand that individual circumstances may arise. If your family needs assistance obtaining dress-code-appropriate clothing, please contact the school so that we can work with you to provide support.
Our goal is not to create unnecessary barriers for students or families. At the same time, maintaining consistent schoolwide expectations is important, and we appreciate your support in helping us do so.
Thank you to the families who shared thoughtful feedback and to our Dress Code Committee for helping us make adjustments that are reasonable, practical, and supportive of our students.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of OAS.

It also describes how JCPS provides interpretation and translation services, approved language-access technology, employee training, and multilingual communication practices across schools and programs.
If employees prefer to communicate in a language other than English, they can contact their immediate supervisor for work-related communication within their department or the appropriate district department when seeking assistance from another district office, such as Human Resources.
Schools, programs, and departments may request language support services through the Language Services Office to facilitate communication with students, families, and employees who prefer to communicate in a language other than English.
