As always, there was a lot of learning happening in the Health Science Academy this past week!
Our juniors had a great time in the GI lab, exploring how the digestive system processes food and bringing their learning to life. Meanwhile, our seniors focused on real-world skills in infant care; practicing swaddling, burping, and feeding with care and confidence. And in the middle of it all, we even had an impromptu sewing lesson!
Shout out to Miss Sarah Pataluna for creating engaging, real-world learning experiences for our students every single day. Your dedication does not go unnoticed!
Experiences like these matter because they ensure all students have access to hands-on, meaningful learning that connects to real-life skills and future careers. This is how we continue to build classrooms where every student feels seen, supported, and prepared to succeed. This is what learning looks like, hands-on, inclusive, and empowering. So proud of our students and staff!

Our Dragons proudly showcased their hard work at today’s Project Based Learning Exhibition, presenting projects they have worked on throughout the year. Students had the opportunity to share their ideas and solutions with district leaders and our partners from GE Appliances, demonstrating creativity, problem-solving, and the real-world skills they have been building in the classroom. Experiences like this highlight the power of hands-on learning and the bright future ahead for our Dragons. We are proud of the confidence and professionalism our students showed while representing Doss.
Thank you to our partners and community members who took the time to attend and support our students during this special event. Your encouragement helps make opportunities like this possible.

Last Friday, our Hispanic students presented their Project-Based Learning (PBL) experience, “Latinos with Purpose: From Community to Industry,” as part of the Academy of Louisville partnership with JCPS.
Through this project, students not only explored real-world industry connections, but also elevated their voices as representatives of the Hispanic community at Doss High School.
These students have become leaders, proudly sharing their culture, experiences, and aspirations. Their work reflects the true purpose of PBL: authentic learning, real-world application, and preparation for future success.
We are incredibly proud of their commitment, dedication, and the high level of excellence they demonstrated throughout every stage of this project. Their impact goes beyond the classroom, they are opening doors and creating opportunities for future generations.
