Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) is making the school commute easier and more transparent for families. Starting in the 2026-27 school year, JCPS is introducing My Ride K-12, a parent communication app that gives students and guardians access to bus locations and arrival times.
Using real-time GPS, the app provides accurate ETAs so you know exactly when to head to the bus stop.
Steps to get started
You can access My Ride K-12 through a web browser or the mobile app.
Download the App: Search for "My Ride K-12" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Web Option: If you prefer using a computer, visit myridek12.tylerapp.com using a Chrome browser.
Create Your Account: Click "Sign Up," then enter your email, name, and password. You will receive a confirmation email to verify your registration.
Find Our District: When prompted, search for "Jefferson County Public Schools Louisville KY" and look for the official JCPS logo.
How to link your students (July 27, 2026 or later)
While you can set up your account anytime, student linking for the upcoming school year begins on July 27, 2026. To connect your child’s profile, you will need three pieces of information:
Student ID Number (Found in the JCPS Transportation Portal).
Student’s Last Name.
Student’s Date of Birth.
Once linked, you can view the assigned bus number, any daily sub-bus updates, and the live bus location on a map.
Keep your trusted caregivers informed
Need to keep a grandparent or babysitter in the loop? You can use the "Share" button within the app to send a secure link to trusted caregivers. Once they register, they will have access to the same real-time bus information to ensure your student is always met on time.
For the best experience, we recommend keeping push notifications turned on so you receive automatic alerts about any changes to your student’s bus schedule.
