Last night, we celebrated Coach K as she prepares to retire this year as our Head Girls Basketball Coach.

Her dedication—both on and off the court—has shaped countless athletes, mentoring so many along the way. Coach K’s impact reaches far beyond the game, and she will truly be missed.

One of our outstanding 7th graders, Iniejah A. Jr., was invited to the Kentucky State Capitol on January 12, where he met with Governor Andy Beshear, Senator Keturah Herron, Senator Reginald Thomas, Representative Nima Kulkarni Chester-Burton, and Senator Gerald Neal.

During his visit, Iniejah confidently presented a case advocating for the ban of data centers and the preservation of Black history—a powerful example of student voice and civic engagement in action.

🐝 Spelling Bee Success! 🐝

Today’s spelling bee was full of tough words and impressive spellers!

We’re thrilled to celebrate Harish D. B. (6th Grade) and Sahana M. (6th Grade), along with their incredible team of four fellow students, for earning not one, but TWO prestigious awards at the First LEGO League (FLL) competition! 🤖🏆

Their team took home:

🎉 Academic Team Spotlight! 🎉

Many of our Meyzeek Academic Team students—representing Quick Recall and Future Problem Solving—participated in the first annual S.L.A.M.S. Challenge (Science, Language Arts, Arts & Humanities, Math, and Social Studies) last week!

79 teams from across Kentucky competed in this online challenge, tackling 105 questions across multiple formats in just 90 minutes. We’re proud to share that Meyzeek fielded 7 teams and had an outstanding showing!

Due to forecasted frigid temperatures in the early morning hours on Monday, December 15, 2025, we have made the decision to use a Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) day for students and staff. Temperatures are expected to warm throughout the day so all after school athletic and extracurricular activities will go on as scheduled.
