As part of a state project, students at Bowen Elementary created "Cool Down" sensory kits for classrooms last year. The items in the kits help kids deal with anxiety or high stress. The students decided to make 50 more kits for local hospital waiting rooms but once they published a website with an order form, orders for an additional 100 kits streamed in from family law attorneys, Norton pediatric clinics and many others. Bowen students delivered 25 of their kits to the Jefferson County court system and Family Court Judge Derwin Webb.
