The pursuit of academic and social-emotional excellence at W.E.B. DuBois Academy recently caught the attention of an international delegation, as the Consulate General of Barbados at Miami paid a special visit to the innovative Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) middle and high school.
Principal Monica Hunter-Kirby and her team welcomed Consul General Rudy Grant and Deputy Consul General Dalton T. Lovell on Friday for a tour and discussions.
The Consulate General initiated the visit to foster mutual growth, cultural exchange, and enriching educational experiences. Deputy Consul General Lovell expressed keen interest in sharing the discussion's content with the Ministry of Education in Barbados to guide the development of a potential partnership.
Principal Hunter-Kirby and her staff, who were excited to host the delegation, structured the visit to provide a meaningful glimpse into their unique school community. The schedule included an information session with students, a classroom tour, and a Q&A session with the school's leadership team.
