Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) has named Iesha Porter, BSN, RN, as the district's new manager of Health Services.
In this role, Porter will direct school nursing operations, student health compliance, emergency health protocols, and wellness programming across JCPS.

Porter brings nearly two decades of healthcare experience to JCPS. She most recently served as a team nurse/case manager at Hosparus Health of Louisville. She has also held nurse leadership roles at the Springs of Stonybrook and Georgetown Manor and clinical nursing roles at Treyton Oak Towers, Baptist Health of Louisville, Valhalla Post Acute Care and Georgetown Manor.
“Ms. Porter is an experienced healthcare leader whose expertise in clinical practice, team development, and operational leadership makes her an outstanding addition to Jefferson County Public Schools,” said Dr. Alicia Averette, executive officer of Student Support and Community Engagement. “Her collaborative leadership style and commitment to service excellence will strengthen the District Health and Wellness Department as we continue advancing the health, safety and well-being of our students and staff.”
Porter earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Galen College of Nursing.
“I am inspired by JCPS's efforts to remove barriers to learning and create opportunities for every student to succeed,” Porter said in her application materials. “As Manager of District Health, I would be committed to supporting district initiatives that promote student wellness, strengthen school health services, enhance staff capacity, and ensure equitable access to care for all students.”
