Language Access Framework

JCPS is committed to clear, inclusive communication and meaningful access for the multilingual populations we serve. Language Services supports this commitment by coordinating interpretation and translation services, providing approved language access technologies, developing districtwide guidance and resources, delivering employee training, and supporting multilingual communication and engagement across the district.

The JCPS Language Access Plan (LAP) serves as the districtwide framework for language access. It outlines the district’s practices, expectations, services, and resources to help ensure multilingual students, families, and employees can understand, participate in, and access district opportunities.

Jefferson County Board of Education Policy 08.1348, Certified Oral and Written Language Support, establishes expectations for the use of qualified interpreters and translators during formal district communication.
