About Us

The Jefferson County Public Education Foundation (JCPEF) aims to be a catalyst for enhancing public education, advocating for excellence, and increasing awareness of the great successes in Jefferson County Public Schools.   JCPEF identifies opportunities to invest in the future of JCPS schools, staff, and students by engaging community leaders and businesses.    

Scholarships

Scholarship applications typically are available on or around February 1 and close on or around March 15 each year.  Please contact your high school counselor for more details and application protocols.

JCPEF Projects—Past and Present

Leadership Development

Leadership development programs that focus on building a pipeline-type system for recruiting future Principals, Assistant Principals, and Teachers.

Ready4K Camp

Ready4K Camp is a summer multi-day camp that provides readiness support to incoming kindergarten students so they may be prepared and ready for kindergarten.

Aspire Higher

Aspire Higher provides support and connections to highly selective colleges for high-achieving, low-income, first-generation college, and/or minority students. The program includes intensive college counseling, campus visits, life skills support, and overall guidance through the post-secondary pursuit. 

E3 Equity Program

The JCPEF E3 Equity Program aims to drive equality in supplemental enrichment funding, support Choice Zone Schools, develop innovative engagement strategies, and create long-term community-wide fundraising campaigns for Choice Zone Schools. It also supports other JCPS schools, students, teachers, staff, and the community.

Baird Excellence Awards

Baird Excellence Awards honor JCPS teachers, staff, and administrators who have been nominated for being outstanding examples of their field. Formerly known as the Hilliard Lyons Excellence Awards, the Baird Excellence Awards is an annual celebration of the best of the best in JCPS.

Superintendent’s State of the District

The Superintendent's State of the District is an annual address that allows the superintendent to highlight districtwide achievements, challenges, and upcoming plans. It also showcases the JCPS Employee Sponsored Student Scholarship, which has awarded more than $300,000* to more than 29 JCPS students.

Academies of Louisville

Academies of Louisville was launched in the fall of 2017 with a mission to equip high school students with the skills and 21st-century knowledge to thrive in an ever-changing global economy. With the Foundation’s support, the Academies of Louisville engages students in hands-on learning in preparation for careers and postsecondary success.
