About Us

The Payroll Department is responsible for accurate payroll processing for JCPS employees.

Specific responsibilities of the department include the following:

  • Administration of Time and Attendance and Payroll Processing

  • Direct Deposit Processing

  • W-4 and K-4 Tax Withholding Forms Processing

  • W-2 Wage Statements

  • County Employees Retirement System (CERS) Reporting and Teachers' Retirement System (KTRS) Reporting

Retirement Information

Kentucky Public Pensions Authority-CERS Retirement

Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA) serves active and retired employees who contribute to the County Employees Retirement System (CERS). CERS membership is mandatory if you work in a full-time position which requires a minimum education requirement of less than a 4-year college or university degree. JCPS employees in positions covered by CERS also pay into Social Security. Contact CERS at 1-502-696-8800.

Teachers' Retirement Systems-TRS Retirement

Teachers' Retirement Systems (TRS) is a comprehensive retirement plan for Kentucky’s public school teachers and eligible District staff. TRS membership is mandatory if your position with a TRS employer requires either certification or graduation from a four-year college or university. JCPS employees in positions covered by TRS do not pay into Social Security. Contact TRS at 1-800-618-1687.
