When Venita Burnett returned to Blake Elementary three years ago, she wanted to do something that got the kids involved in some kind of leadership position. So, she rebooted the school's safety patrol club. A program that's making an impact inside and outside of the building.

When Ivonne Davila-Beegle first introduced Rocket League the Academy @ Shawnee's esports team, it started out as a club. It would soon turn into a formal team, with some growing pains. Now, the Golden Eagles are one of the best Rocket League teams in JCPS.

JCPS cut the ribbon on a brand-new Verizon Innovative Learning Lab at Ramsey Middle School. The lab gives students and teachers access to emerging technology such as augmented and virtual reality, 3D printing and artificial intelligence.
