The Southern High School Solidarity Project has already helped dozens of families, and they plan to keep it going all summer long! 🙌✨

🐴 GIDDY UP FOR GREATNESS | JCPS celebrated 80 McKinney-Vento students and their families today with a powerful closing ceremony at Wilt Elementary. After 3 weeks of learning, field trips, and resilience-building activities, students showed off their growth, enjoyed lunch, and went home with food and supplies. 💙

🎨 ART THERAPY | Students from Minor Daniels Academy teamed up with UofL Health to create “Recovery: Progress not Perfection,” a mural unveiled earlier this year at The Commitment House. Special shoutout to rising senior Kennedy Julian, named Best Actress in a Leading Role! 🌟 She’ll head to NYC to represent our region at the national Jimmy Awards—a first for Kentucky & Southern Indiana! The Jimmy Awards, now in its 16th year, is a nationally renowned competition where students spend 10 days learning from the best of the best on Broadway, culminating in an award ceremony on June 23!

♜ CHECK MATE | Valley High School earned another national chess distinction! The Vikings took third in the nation in the U1200 category. Stuart Middle earned its first national honor, taking the 23rd rank in the U800 division. Grace M. James Academy of Excellence finished 17th in the U800 division.
